It is not only the eyes of this world that are watching us. All who live in this world are part of a divine drama that is played out on grand stage of the universe and is being watched by a host of spiritual beings.
God has something to say, and he has chosen to say it in a dramatic play that is being played out by you and me and every other human being on the colossal cosmic stage. This is the most majestic backdrop imaginable and it is entirely fitting considering who wrote the play.
The drama is meant to convey many messages, but at the heart of them all is one, simple statement: that the author of the play exists--and that he loves us.
It is hard to imagine a human play with such a goal in mind. No one would question the fact that a story set on a stage, with all its props in proper place and all the actors obviously moving in accord with the plot. No one would question the existence of an author; no one would say that the play had written itself. Yet such is the folly of man that he questions the existence of the Author of the universal play. To such, the Author replies:
"This is what the Lord says--he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited--he says, 'I am the Lord and there is no other. I have not spoken from somewhere in a land of darkness" (Isaiah 45:18, 19).
Scripture for today: Isaiah 45:18, 19
Thought for today: It is not by chance the universe exists. Someone made it--and made it inhabitable.
Prayer for today: How I praise you, Lord, for the wonder of your creation--and your own existence.
