You and I have far greater opportunity to come into God's presence than any of the people that have been mentioned regarding awareness of being in the presence of God. For through Christ's death on the cross, his resurrection and ascension, he gained for us access into God's presence, as often as we desire it. The question is, do we desire it?
Here in our life on earth, we commonly want to spend as much time as possible with friends and family, our loved ones. It cannot be any different in our relationship with God whom we love. Love, by its very nature, involves spending time with those that are loved.
Prayer is time in God's presence, talking to him. Reading his Word is time in his presence, listening to him. But do not count up those moments and add them up and then say, "This is how much time I have spent with Jesus." Your whole life is spent in his presence. Your whole life is a prayer to God. Your whole life is his living Word being lived out in your flesh and blood for all the world to see. It is every moment of every day. That is why it is called walking or living in the Spirit.
Scripture for today: Gal. 5:16-25
Thought for today: I am called to walk in the Spirit, not in my own flesh.
Prayer for today: Help me, God, to walk in your Spirit, to desire the things you desire so that my I may walk with you and our walk together may give you pleasure.
