God is our very life. We could not exist except that he exists. It is not merely a figurative or symbolic declaration that Jesus states when he says that he is life (John 14:6). He is not simply the source of meaningful existence for our lives; He is life itself. Without him, we could not exist, for he has created this entire universe for us, so that we could inhabit it, and then created us ourselves. None of this could happen unless he made it happen.

The fantasy world which the evolutionists have created is totally fanciful and unreal. Nothing could exist without an eternal God to create it. This argument is constantly challenged by atheists and those of a purely materialistic viewpoint, but it still remains such a strong argument in favor of God's existence that Scripture itself uses it -- and warns those who refuse to acknowledge its valid logic that they will have no excuse when they stand in judgment before the God they claim does not exist and he points them to the cosmos he made as proof of his existence.

"Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse" (Rom. 1:19, 20).

Scripture for today: Romans 1
Thought for today: That which is unseen is made visible by what is seen.
Prayer for today: Open my eyes, Lord, to see you in all that you have made.
