Remember the devotions on choosing? There it was seen that Jesus asked people if they really wanted to be set free from whatever infirmity was binding them. Not everyone wants to be set free from the deception and harm of virtual reality, if it means entering into the depths of true reality. Some prefer deception and falsehood to the truth of reality.

2 Timothy 4:4 says that some will reject the truth and follow strange myths. This strange and perverse reaction to reality is nothing new. People of the Old Testament said the same thing:

"Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions. Leave this path, and stop confronting us with the Holy One of Israel!" (Is. 30:10, 11).

And there you have the real reason why people choose some other "reality" other than the one true reality: because they do not want to face God. They want a reality without God; they do not want to be confronted with the Holy One of Israel.

Scripture for today: Isaiah 30:1-14
Thought for today: Reality must confront the God of reality.
Prayer for today: Holy God, I want you to confront me in every aspect of my life, so that I can be holy like you, in Jesus. For without holiness, no one shall see you -- and I want to see you, Lord.
