"Are God's consolations not enough for you, words spoken gently to you?" (Job 15:11).
Gently, through words on the paper of the Bible, or more harshly, through trials and testings meant to deliver the same message to us which we could have learned if only we would have heeded the gentle words of the Bible -- either way, God, in his love, wishes to communicate to us that which we need to know.
Which will it be, the word of gentleness or the word of harsh experiences and circumstances? The choice is up to us.
"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?" (1 Cor. 4:20, 21).
Scripture for today: 1 Cor. 4:20, 21
Thought for today: God's Word is powerful in its gentleness.
Prayer for today: Thank you, Lord, for being gentle with me. I love your Word and your gentle kindness.
