We do not have to wait for that final moment of moments to receive an accurate view of reality. In fact, we dare not wait.God warns us in his Word that now is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2).

We need to see reality in God's light now, while that vision will benefit us. And there is only one way this can be done, only one way in which all the barriers to seeing reality can be taken away. It is not done through drugs, including those which supposedly allow the user to enter into altered states of reality. It is not done through religious exercises, no matter how pious or severe they may seem. In fact, nothing we do can ever remove the veil which hides reality's true nature from us.

There is only one way this can be done. And it has been done:

"But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away" (2 Cor. 3:16)

Jesus removes from us the veil that prevents us from seeing reality as it really is. He is able to do this because he is reality in its deepest depths. And only he is able to do this.

"Only through Christ is it taken away" (2 Cor. 3:14 RSV).

This is the absolute position which God's Word takes regarding truth and reality. It is an unbending position that does not tolerate untruth and therefore the world rejects it because the world does not want truth and therefore must accept all untruths as its truth. That, to the world, is tolerance. But it also gives an untrue picture of reality.

Scripture for today: 2 Cor. 3:12-18
Thought for today: Only through Jesus is a true perspective of reality possible.
Prayer for today: Jesus, I gladly acknowledge that only through you do I see things as they really are.
