Though an unbeliever may live life, on the surface at least, more passionately than a believer, that unbeliever will lose all that passion for life when he or she dies. The believer, on the other hand, though he or she may have had a personality that did not always display passion as the world defines passion, will keep his or her life and the capacity to express life passionately forever.

True passion derives from passion of the spirit, not the soul. But we have already seen from our lengthy look into 1 Corinthians 2 that the world does not see nor can it understand true passion or anything else that stems from the spirit. The world operates on the level of the soul, not the spirit.

Nevertheless, Scripture promises that those whose true passion in life is one of the spirit and who bind their spirit to the Spirit of Christ will not suffer the deadly consequences of those in the world who think that all life has to offer is what is seen and experienced in this world that can be seen and felt through senses of the soul and body. Those who believe in Christ see into the invisible realm of the spirit and trust the God of that world to be faithful to his promise that they will keep the passion they had for Him in this world and that it will burst into full flame in the next, even as they strove to do so in this world.

Love for God does not die with our death in this world. Those who love God will keep that love for ever.

"Love never ends . . . so faith, hope, love abide, these three" (1 Cor. 13:8, 13).

Scripture for today: 1 Cor. 13
Thought for today: Love never dies, for love is of the eternal God.
Prayer for today: Thank you, Lord, that my love for you, which you yourself inspired within me, will continue even after I leave this world.
