"Everything that God does will endure for ever" (Eccl. 3:14).
We are one of those things that God has made, the result of something he has done. Therefore, we will endure forever. Existence does not end at death. Every human being continues to exist forever after having been created by God. Some will continue to exist in heaven forever; others will continue to exist in hell. But all continue to exist, for all were made by God and whatever God does will endure for ever.
Existence has eternal consequences because all that exists has its source in the eternal God.
"His ways are eternal" (Habakkuk 3:6).
Knowing that we will exist forever has a tremendously powerful impact on how we view our existence. We should never treat anyone else or ourselves with disdain or even complacency.
Every human being is an eternal creation of God and the deeds we do while alive on this earth have eternal consequences. Such knowledge should temper all that we do and make us much more respectful of who we are and who every other individual is to us and to God.
We are creatures of eternity.
Scripture for today: Matthew 18:1-6
Thought for today: Existence is eternal.
Prayer for today: Eternal God, keep me ever mindful of the eternal nature of myself and the others I meet every day.
