The Sovereign God raises we who were dead in our sins only through Son, Jesus Christ. In the description of the crucifixion of Jesus, God's Word says that "when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. . . . The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life" (Mt. 27:50-52).

Only when God does the raising is new life given to dead people's bones -- because only from God does the Spirit of life come, the Holy Spirit.

"'I will put my Spirit in you and you will live and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken and I have done it,' declares the Lord" (Ezek 37:14).

God never intended for us to wait until we are in heaven to receive abundant life in Christ. That life is ours now. We are to live settled lives in Christ, not lives of confusion and disjointedness.

Receive that fullness of life in Christ now. Call out to the Holy Spirit to fill you with himself. That is to be filled with Christ, with God. Then you will be fully alive in Christ.
