Just as the loss of the unbeliever is total outside of Christ, so it the ability to keep all that matters total in the believer. The whole spirit, soul and body is kept blameless at the coming of Jesus (1 Thess. 5:23).
Reality does have gray areas and shades of meaning and various depths, but in the end, it is all or nothing. For the wicked, it is nothing; for the believer, it is all--in Christ. Jesus is the One who enables the believer in him to keep all that matters. Those who keep, do so because Jesus is the Keeper of their soul.
Jesus is the one who keeps us strong to the end, so that we will be blameless on the day of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:8).
We who believe are those who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ (Jude 1). Jesus is he who is able to keep us from falling and to present us before the Father without fault and with great joy (Jude 24).
God will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on him who keeps us, Jesus Christ.
Scripture for today: Isaiah 26:3
Thought for today: Jesus is the keeper of my soul.
Prayer for today: I trust you, Jesus, as my soul's keeper.
