In this matter of losing or keeping things from this world as one crosses over into the next, some passages from Scripture help sum it up.

The unbeliever loses everything, even the little he had in this world:

"Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him" (Mt. 13:12).

"The righteous shall keep all the blessings from God, but the wicked shall lose everything" (Prov. 10:30).

"Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again" (Eccl. 11:1).

"My servants will eat, but you will go hungry; my servants will drink, but you will go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame. My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit. You will leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse; the Sovereign Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name" (Isaiah 65:13-15).

Scripture for today: Isaiah 3:10
Thought for today: He is no fool who gives up to Jesus what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.
Prayer for today: Thank you, Jesus, for keeping me faithful to you, the keeper of my soul.
