So we come to the end of our look at 1 Cor. 2, having called it one of the deepest chapters of the Bible. Now do you see why? Would you not agree? What is deeper than being able to share the deepest secrets of God's own heart? That is where the spirit of any being lives and God has shown us that just as our spirit can communicate and fellowship and relate to other human spirits, so can his Spirit have a relationship with ours: That is why he made us.
This is such a powerful truth that it could easily frighten us. Who am I, God, to share the depths of your heart with you? How can I stand when the depths of your emotions and the power of your love and the thoughts of your mind sweep over me?
But that is the human way of thinking. Now that we have the mind of Christ because we are in Christ, the Holy Spirit himself will enable us to stand.
When Daniel encountered the Angel of the Lord, that encounter was so powerful that Daniel could not withstand its power, and he said, "How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe" (Dan. 10: 17).
But the angel gave Daniel the strength he needed to enter into a relationship with him. God does the same for us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture for today: Daniel 10:4-19
Thought for today: God desires a deep relationship with me. Only through the power of the Holy Spirit is this possible.
Prayer for today: Thank you, Lord, for making me able to have a deep relationship with you. It is the only thing that makes life worth living. I was made to relate to you.
